|Duties:||Principal Job Duties: |
Possesses the ability to take a project from concept to final completion with only occasional supervision. Monitors the project's budget and schedule, and maintains client contact and relationship. Understands basic financial terms and concepts of profit as they apply to projects. Works closely with more senior level staff members to gain project management experience. Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work with clients, contractors, outside consultants and firm staff. Supervises, schedules and checks work of project team members. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects. Makes design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications. Prepares reports and correspondence concerning assigned projects. May devise new approaches to problems encountered. Coordinates final design and construction documents with clients and review agencies. Serves as a technical advisor to more junior team members. Participates in marketing, sales, and business development efforts. Assists and advises the firm's field representative at the job site. Prospects new clients and participates in collections. Strives to make each project profitable.
The employee may occasionally be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry field equipment weighing up to 60 pounds. Work may routinely require the employee to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Work is performed under all weather conditions, often on construction sites or in difficult terrain, and sometimes involves extensive standing and walking.
• Education - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. Eligible for Professional Engineer’s License
• Experience – Four years of relevant progressive experience. Post-graduate degree in engineering may substitute for one year of experience.
Qualifications / Other requirements:
Must possess a valid driver’s license, ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, must possess advanced reading, writing and math skills, must be comfortable communicating with the public, must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments.
